"Nathaniel is a great barber that I, and my 3 boys, have been going to see for years. When he moved shops recently I did not hesitate to follow him even if that means it adds a considerable amount of driving time for me. What sold me on Nathaniel since day one was that he does not want you to walk out of the shop without the haircut you wanted, and that applies to adults and kids. Any adjustments I have requested, he did willingly and made sure it looked right. Everyone is given adequate time in the chair and never rushed out the door. Also having appointment options is a great feature as you can plan opposed to walk-in and hope you get in quick. "Great little gem and a classic gentlemen's barbershop. This was my third visit there and I wanted to make sure I had enough info to write an accurate review. Nathaniel performed all my haircuts and I must say he is very good, consistent and a true professional. He is very miticulas and did not rush through during the haircut.
The shop can get busy so if you go, I strongly suggest calling to make an appointment. With Nathaniel in charge, you're in good hands at Off the Main Barbershop. There is also ample parking outside the shop.

"This is a tiny 2 chair barbershop w/ a fun retro vibe & 2 barbers who are quite talented. I brought in my 2 sons. My youngest wanted to look like Hawkeye from the Avengers. "This is the first place I've ever been to that has gotten it perfect. I've tried so many barber shops and nobody came close to Off Main Street.
I have trouble communicating what sort of cut I'm looking for usually, but just a flash of a picture and the barber here was able to put it into words for me. On top of that I had been growing my hair out for like 8 months so it was well past time for me to go in. Somehow he still managed to give me exactly the haircut I wanted. Super impressed.

I always put off getting a haircut because I'm rarely satisfied with the results. I did it again, with the aim of finding the guy whose new business was mentioned in a Facebook post. A bit of internet searching led me here, and 30 minutes later I walked out transformed! Well, maybe not TRANSFORMED, but definitely very satisfied. I even got the Geezer discount.

"I was a bit desperate to get my preschooler's hair cut before school starts next week and his usual stylist recently quit her job and everyone else at the "kid friendly" places I usually take him was booked out.
I walk by this business frequently and had taken note of it's classic vintage vibe and my son had noticed it too and thought it was cool. I checked online and was surprised to see kids cuts offered so I popped in and was able to get my son a same day appointment.
Nathaniel was fantastic. He's experienced with working with kids and had the coolest booster seat for his chair. My son has super fine hair that shows all the cuts and this cut turned out AWESOME!
We usually get haircuts at Sharkey's or Bella and Max so I wasn't sure what my kiddo would think of this adult experience since he's complained about other more simple salons I've taken him to. I asked him for his review tonight. He LOVED it! Why? Because Nathaniel put a neck paper around his neck before putting the cape on. "I wasn't itchy afterward! Let's always get my haircut there!". "I have been getting my hair cut by Nate for several years now. Nate is a meticulous perfectionist, which is very important for me that my barber takes their time and does quality work. Nate is friendly and can easily hold a meaningful conversation with you while cutting your hair, but also has a good sense of when a client would prefer just the cut and no extra conversation. He totally gets it and is always professional. His pricing is very fair for the quality of his work. He is located in the HUB which is excellent for UW students and anyone living in the Udistrict area. I travel in personally, but it's well worth it for the standard of service that I consistently receive. He can accommodate walk-ins, but it's always best to call ahead.
If you are looking for a quality cut from a knowledgeable and friendly barber, that always takes his time and makes sure things are just right, Nate is your guy."
